These terms are written in plain language on purpose. If something is unclear, email us and we'll explain it. We don't hide behind legal jargon.
Who these terms apply to
These Terms of Service apply to anyone who visits the Vela website, joins the waitlist, receives communications from us, or participates in early access testing. By doing any of these things, you agree to these terms.
What Vela is right now
Vela is currently in pre-launch. We are collecting waitlist signups and building a product. We do not yet offer a live software service. By joining the waitlist, you are expressing interest in the product — not purchasing access to it. There is no payment required to join the waitlist.
What we will and won't do with your information
When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address. Here is exactly what we use it for:
To confirm your place on the waitlist
To notify you when early access opens
To send product updates and build-in-public updates that you signed up for
To ask for feedback as we develop the product
We will never sell your email address or personal information to any third party. We will never share your data with advertisers. We will never send unsolicited commercial email unrelated to Vela.
Communications
By joining the waitlist, you consent to receiving occasional emails from the Vela team about the product's development and launch. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time, for any reason, with a single click. No dark patterns, no re-subscription popups.
Intellectual property
All content on the Vela website — including copy, design, graphics, and code — is owned by Vela and may not be reproduced or distributed without written permission. The Vela name and any associated marks are the property of Vela.
If you share feedback, ideas, or suggestions with us, you grant us the right to use that feedback to improve the product. You retain ownership of your original content, but you acknowledge that we may incorporate the substance of your suggestions without compensation or attribution.
Availability and changes
We reserve the right to change, pause, or discontinue any aspect of the Vela website or waitlist at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify waitlist members of significant changes, but cannot guarantee advance notice in all circumstances.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Limitation of liability
The Vela website is provided as-is. While we work to keep it accurate and up to date, we make no warranties — express or implied — regarding its content or availability. Vela is not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from your use of or reliance on the website or waitlist.
Governing law
These terms are governed by applicable law. If you have a dispute with us, we'd ask that you contact us first — most things can be resolved with a direct conversation.
